WOOSTER — Weaver Commercial Contractor recently took home two awards from a Utah-based architecture and construction company that specializes in designing and building facilities for Christian ministries.

Building God’s Way recently held its annual Builder Conference in Ogden, Utah, where the company presented WCC with the Steve Hartman Stewardship Award and an award for Excellence in Business Development, according to a news release from the company.

According to the release, WCC — which is Building God’s Way’s exclusive builder for Ohio, West Virginia and western Pennsylvania — won the stewardship award "in recognition of the outstanding value and savings the company has delivered to ministry clients."

"WCC consistently delivers construction projects at the lowest costs in the country while maintaining excellent quality," the release said.

WCC President Ron Wenger accepted the award, named in honor of the former CEO of Building God’s Way, who died in 2010, according to the release.

WCC and Building God’s Way have collaborated on several recent and ongoing projects, according to the release. These projects include Christian Children’s Home of Ohio in Wooster, Rosedale Bible College in Irwin, College Heights Baptist Church in Elyria, LifeSpring Community Church in Harrison and Center Pointe Christian Church in Liberty Township.

Additionally, Building God’s Way presented David Hershey, director of business development for WCC, with an award for excellence in his field. According to the release, Hershey ranked in the top 3 in the nation in establishing new relationships with ministries.

"A true ambassador of the BGW program in the Ohio West Virginia and Western PA, David has a passion for helping churches fund and build facilities that are relevant and sustainable and enjoys seeing every project come to fruition," the release said.
