Rosedale Mennonite Missions purchased a 33,365 sft building that was used as a nursing home for the purpose of converting the building into a new training, dormatory, and administrative facility. Leon Ruch with B/A Beilharz Architects, Inc. out of Defiance, Ohio was the project architect.
Weaver Commercial Contractor was hired as the general contractor to perform and oversee the construction process. The project included a major gutting of the existing building. Reconstruction of the inside which included sturctural construction as well as all new finishes, new doors, and new windows. The facility included dormatory style men's and women's restrooms and showerooms, dormatory style sleeping rooms, a commercial kitchen and eating area, training rooms, and administrative offices. The electrical systems, HVAC systems, sprinkler systems, and plumbing were all renovated as well. There were some minor exterior renovations to the outside as well as some landscaping and exterior concrete work.
WCC helped coordinate volunteer teams that Rosedale had come into help.
