This design-build project for The Mohican Church of the Brethern consisted of a 8,784 square foot building addition to their existing church building, construction of a 352 square foot portico (covered drop off) at the south entry, and 183 square feet of renovated area in the existing building.
The additions consisted of a multi-purpose fellowship/meeting room with a seating capacity of 480, a large warming kitchen with lots of counter space, a large serving window, and a commercial hood with fire suppression. A large lobby area with handicap accessible men's and women's restrooms, a mechanical room, a storage room, and an administrative office were also part of the addition.
In order to accommodate the ground elevation changes the addition was set at a lower elevation than the existing building, so a handicap chair lift was installed as well as a stairway for access between the two levels.
The project included site work, utility extensions, extensive parking lot work, retaining walls, exterior concrete, and storm sewer work.
