When FedEx Ground realized the need for geographical expansion into the Akron/Canton area, Scannell Properties called on Weaver Commercial Contractor to construct a building engineered by Precept Design Architects that met all FedEx’s present and future needs.
A split-face block and metal veneer building was designed with a long bay system using 50 ft. OC mainframes. This specialty building included an internal exhaust and CO2 monitoring system, and fiber mesh within the concrete for complete curement to effectively distribute excessive weight.
There are 27 dock doors (engineered to expand for 7 more), and additional space for tractor trailer parking along with dolly pads. A keycard accessible full perimeter fence with electonically- controlled gates completed the project. From site development through final walk-through, WCC knew the best way to satisfy FedEx and all of its necessary demands.
